Philly's Quackin' for the new 2007 season of Ride The Ducks
Philadelphia, PA (May 14, 2007)
Ride The Ducks of Philadelphia is out of hibernation and ready to migrate towards a fantastic season in 2007. Each of the duck vehicles have been maintained and re-inspected over the winter and are freshly painted for an even better guest experience in 2007. Tour guides are prepared with new tour material and music about contemporary Philadelphia along with the historical side.
Ride The Ducks is a unique land-to-water adventure that travels the streets of Philadelphia passing sites like the Liberty Bell, Congress Hall, Washington Square, South Street, Penn's Landing, Elfreth's Alley, the Betsy Ross House and much more. After touring the streets, the SPLASH down into the Delaware River gives visitors a unique look at Philadelphia and New Jersey from the water.
Knowledgeable and entertaining Duck Captains are the masters of these unique vessels as well as expert storytellers, area ambassadors, history buffs and adventure lovers. Duck tour content is always factually accurate, full of wit, wisdom, and "wow." With a firm belief that truth is stranger and infinitely more entertaining than fiction, all Coast Guard licensed Duck Captains have a natural love for Philadelphia. Each Captain relished the opportunity to share current, thought provoking truths about the area, including the strange, the funny, and the absurb, creating an incredibly memorable experience for everyone.
The amphibious Ride The Duck vehicle is based on the famous WWII DUKW amphibious design. Today, we build our vehicles from the ground up using the latest in marine design and safety. The vehicles are United States Coast Guard certified and tested regularly to ensure a safe and comfortable tour for our guests.
Ride The Ducks is the largest amphibious sightseeing tour in America. They are a part of Herschend Family Entertainment and carries over half a million passengers nationwide. In addition to the wholly owned Ride The Ducks operations in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Branson and Memphis, Ride The Ducks also licenses its vehicles to operators in Boston, Seattle and Stone Mountain, GA.
The Ride The Ducks ticket booth is located at Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Streets. "By boarding next to the Independence Visitor Center, we make it easier for our guests to enjoy historic Philadelphia" said Ride The Ducks of Philadelphia general manager, Steve Dutcher. Tickets can be purchased at our ticket booth and in addition can be purchased online, via telephone at 877-887-8225 or at our ticket kiosk off 6th and Chestnut Streets.
